About the Editors

Kathi Carlisle Fountain

Kathi Fountain is the Collection Services Program Manager with the Orbis Cascade Alliance, a consortium of 37 member academic libraries. Although her work is more focused on academic library collections than political science librarianship these days, she still maintains a deep and abiding love of the discipline and holds the "political science librarian" identity close to her heart. Early training in government documents librarianship provided a foundation for working with students and faculty on research related to American government and politics. Over her career, Kathi has been active with the Law and Political Science Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries, serving as one-time Chair and longtime member of the LPSS Executive Committee. In addition to this project, Kathi's research has included publications relating administrative issues in academia and library leadership, political science bibliography, information literacy, and collection acquisitions.

Roger Kosson

Roger Kosson is the Social Sciences Librarian at Denison University in central Ohio. Roger’s interest in political advocacy groups dates back to his first job out of college, when he was a Legislative Assistant for one such group: the American Jewish Congress, in Washington, DC. Roger went on to become a political researcher for over a decade, serving as research director at a DC political consulting firm before moving to Chicago to go out on his own as a freelance political researcher.  When Roger thought about changing careers, he concluded that he wanted to do something that would utilize the skills and knowledge he had gained as a political researcher. Roger soon discovered that being a librarian would offer him the opportunity to teach people how to do the research. As a new co-editor of this site, Roger looks forward to tapping into his first-hand knowledge of the political advocacy world, as well as his political research background, to continue to build a site that is of the utmost value to students, scholars, and other researchers. Learn more about Roger’s experience.
